Motorola RAZR V3 - from bad to worse

Aug 17, 2005 by Graeme in Uncategorized

As much as I dislike my current phone, there’s always room for more. Yesterday I found that none of the buttons on the keypad worked, with the exception of the power/hang up key.

Note to self – avoid Motorola products like the plague!

Del.icio.us just got tastier

Del.icio.us now have an official way to list your links on your own site, so I’ve added what they call a linkroll to the right hand side of mine. This will show the last 10 web pages I posted to del.icio.us. Like it.

Flickr and Picasa

Aug 02, 2005 by Graeme in Uncategorized

So I’ve finally started touching up the photos that I take. This is mostly due to having found Picasa, Google’s free photo management application. It’s incredibly responsive and fun to use (rotate an image and it doesn’t just rotate, it spins!), and it even has an I’m Feeling Lucky button which attempts to fix your photo in one hit.

There’s a downside though. I’m not even going to consider leaving Flickr, and I just can’t see how to get Picasa and Flickr to bring out the best in each other. Flickr does a great job of archiving your photos and Picasa makes it easy to post-process them, but to get a photo from Flickr into Picasa for editing and then back onto Flickr is a complete ‘mare, which is a shame because on their own each tool is really slick.

There was a time when we could have hoped that Google would buy Flickr and turn Picasa into a front-end for it, but since Yahoo! got in there I’d say those days are over. So we’ll have to resort to good old 3rd-party hacks. The trouble is I can’t find any, yet…

Update: I’m not the only one who thinks this would be a good idea.

Interestingness

Flickr has a new feature which allows you to browse through interesting photos. The Last 24 Hours page looks like a good one to subscribe to, but…. WHERE’S THE RSS FEED?

There ain’t one.
