I recently changed my
Sony Ericsson Z600 for a
Motorola Razr V3. The new
phone is amazingly thin and fantastic to look at, but there are a few features
that I really miss:

1. Synchronization: The Z600 supports the
   
   Bluetooth Synchronization profile making it trivial to get all my
   contacts phone numbers from Outlook onto the phone. Unfortunately the V3
   doesn’t. The only way to get phone numbers from your PC to the phone seems
   to be with the accompanying software, and that just doesn’t work. The
   problem seems to be that the V3 has a clever system of each contact having a
   list of a variable number of phone numbers and email addresses, and I think
   the software doesn’t support this properly (though it probably works fine
   for older phones). If the protocol were available then I might consider
   writing a simple application to send contacts from Outlook to the phone, but
   for now I think I’m going to have to bite the bullet and type them all in by
   hand
2. Sending text messages: If the Z600 fails to send a message it
   tells you. You then have to navigate through the menus to the Unsent Items
   to try to send it again, but at least you know. The V3, however, gives no
   feedback at all as to whether or not the message was sent. You have to
   navigate through the menus to the Sent Items folder to see if the message
   has a little cross or tick next to it. If it has a cross then it didn’t get
   sent.
3. Software: I want my floAt’s Mobile Agent
   back!

The V3 certainly makes me appreciate that the Z600 has an excellent set of
Bluetooth profiles. It’s a shame Motorola haven’t put the effort into supporting
some more (especially synchronisation) in the V3. Very disappointing. It’s a big
step forward in looks but a step back in other respects.
