TODO: Build some Pocket PC apps

May 27, 2004 by Graeme in Development

Pocket PC Thoughts: There is one set of class libraries and controls I always begin installing when entering into a new software development project: the Smart Device Framework from OpenNETCF. The framework is a package of shared-source class libraries and controls which extend the .NET Compact Framework. The new version, version 1.1, includes numerous new features to add improved Threading, Configuration, Telephony and Serial Communications support. There is also a large selection of forms controls such as HtmlViewer, InkX and RoundGauge controls. Read the press release here!

It’s free. It’s of highest quality. It’s shared source. What are you waiting for?

Good question! :)

Easy come, easy go

James has had his wheelchair license revoked for dangerous driving! He is now having to walk everywhere, which must be really hard after 6 weeks of not walking at all. He’s got some intensive physiotherapy lined up for tomorrow after which the consultant will be coming to see him again, so we’re hoping that he might even be discharged tomorrow and be able to come home!

There’s only one weeny problem with that - his new bed doesn’t arrive until Wednesday and I’ve already got rid of his old bed! Fortunately, he has some very accomodating grandparents a short distance away, so maybe they’ll put him up there. There has been talk of him staying there for a while anyway, as Lynn and I are both out at work during the day but James’ Grandad is retired. James is going to miss the room service he has been getting at the hospital! ;)

Do not adjust your set

Here’s a new picture of James, now sitting up in his wheelchair! Sorry about the quality; it was taken with Lynn’s phone. I’ll take the “proper” camera with me tomorrow for some better pictures.

Bloody Itchy!!

Is the verdict on the jacket!  But finally, finally the jacket is on.  James sat up for a about 5 minutes; he said he felt really dizzy and sick and is lying down again now.

He is getting dressed at last tho and will be sporting a pair of red Hawaiian shorts and no top as he is too hot he says.

I am going up to see him tomorrow morning now and will let you know how he is feeling then.
